What could be more fun for a mermaid loving reader than to have a personalized Ocean themed bookmark for their beach-worthy reads?
I’ll walk you through how to make one faster than the shake of a tail!
First, download the Mermaid Resources zip file, and open it up. Then head to Adobe Express. Express is a free and easy tool for creating simple designs online. We’re going to use the Coral clip art, plus a background freely available in Express to create the design here.
You’ll want to create a new file at a custom size, 2 in x 6 in. Follow this link to go straight there.
Add the Coral Image
Start by uploading a coral image that will serve as the focal point of your design. Click Remove Background. Once your coral image is in place, remove the background so that we can add some color behind the image.
Choose a Background
Head over to the Elements section in the left menu and browse through the available backgrounds. To find the perfect one, search for “beach blue” and select the background that resonates with your ocean vibe.
Add Some Flare
For a different style, click on the coral image and explore the Effects menu. Try the Duotone option to add a vibrant color overlay that changes the mood.
Personalize with Text
Add your name or a favorite word by clicking the Text tool. For a geometric style that adds a modern twist, type your name with each letter on a new line, and choose the Flegrei typeface.
Et voila!
Your custom ocean-themed bookmark is complete and ready to download. Print it out and let it swim with you through all your literary adventures!
