My daughter and I have been working on a game together titled Mythic Makers. She’s been the creative lead and I’m the technical know how of the team. The general concept is that the player is an apprentice Mythical Creature veterinarian. The game itself is played in an app, but the creatures also each have their own real life STEM kit, plus mini games inside of the app.

The first mythical creature that Sunny (the code name for the main character right now) runs into is a green mail carrier dragon who has hurt her wing and dropped her mail. It’s a simple fetch quest to introduce players to the game. Once the player hunts down the ‘dragon mail’, they can help Gloria, the dragon, with a brace for her wing inside the shop.

We’re still working out if ‘Gloria’ will also have a kit (likely) and what the STEM concept will be. The next up will be the Phoenix whose heart flame has gone out. The kit will teach concepts of using cold and heat to generate energy, using a thermoelectric cell, tea light, and ice.
